BACKGROUND

Since 2005, non-profit organization Sowing Seeds for Life (SSFL) has been dedicated to aiding those with food insecurity in the Greater Los Angeles area. Being heavily dependent on volunteerism, SSFL desired to update their branding in hopes of resonating with the younger generation.

VISITING SOWING SEEDS FOR LIFE

In order to gain a greater understanding of SSFL’s values and image, a visit was made to their headquarters in La Verne, California during a food pantry day. Being able to experience the organization’s charity in action heavily influenced the direction taken with the logo’s general appearance.

GETTING IDEAS DOWN + DRAFTS

After visiting SSFL’s headquarters, a mood-board was assembled for the brand that consisted of a wide range of images found online. With themes of charity, community, and growth highlighted, work began on the new logo’s design.

JOINING FORCES

With a more clear direction for the logo established, work was done with designer Megan Smith in completing the final design. Below are the logo drafts made just prior to the collaboration.
